Contract Notes

The Broncos and Von Miller agreed to a six year, $114.5 million contract on July 15, 2016. Per Mike Klis, Miller received $70 million in guarantees, $42 million of which is guaranteed upon signing. The full guarantee is made up of a $17.5 million signing bonus, $6 million roster bonus, and his Paragraph 5 salaries in 2016 and 2017. In March of 2017 Miller's $19 million salary in 2018 will become fully guaranteed. If Miller is on the roster in March of 2018, $9 million of his 2019 base salary will become fully guranteed. The final two years of the contract are option seasons. Denver has until the final day of the prior League year to pick up each option season. If the options are exercised Miller will have $6 million and $7 million of his 2020 and 2021 salaries become guaranteed.On March 13, 2018, Miller converted $16.5 million of his $18.5 million base salary into a signing bonus. The move created $12.375 million in cap room for the Broncos in 2018. Millers salary cap charges from 2019-2021 will all increase by $4.125 million each.
