This table lists the players who have officially been released by their teams and takes a look at the financials of their contracts. Included in this table is how much was earned relative to the actual contract value and the new guarantee in the contract. For players who traded, the numbers will include earnings from the prior team(s).
Players who are released from their contracts are not eligible to become compensatory free agents, and thus teams that wish to avoid canceling out compensatory picks may prioritize signing players on this list in free agency.
