Contract Notes

All details of the contract come via a report from Mike Florio of PFT so please credit him if using any of the contract information. Sherman received a $3 million signing bonus which is the guaranteed portion of the contract. Another $2 million in 2018 will be earned as a roster bonus at the start of training camp if Sherman passes a physical. There are up to $2 million in per game roster bonuses in each year of the contract. Sherman can earn up to $4 million a year in incentives which would maximize the contract at $39.15 million. The incentives are $1 million for 90% playtime, $1 million for being named to the Pro Bowl, and $2 million for being named to the All Pro team.If named to the 2018 Pro Bowl other escalators/de-escalators and guarantees kick in. If Sherman makes the Pro Bowl, then $1 million of per game bonuses in the following two years will be moved from per game roster bonuses to regular base salary. The $8 million base salary in both years would be injury guaranteed and vest to fully guaranteed on April 1 of that year.Per Field Yates, the 49ers gave Richard Sherman a $1M signing bonus for 2020 to account for the 90% play-time incentive he narrowly missed out on in 2019.Career Earnings: $78,783,424
