We’ll be partnering up with FanDuel again this year and hosting an OTC league each week for readers of the site. If you have never tried FanDuel before they are, in my opinion, the top daily fantasy sports platform with loads of different game options ranging from head to head weekly games all the way to massive multi-player leagues. The OTC league is a $5 entry league and this week can hold up to 20 players. The top 5 will all win prizes that range from $50 to $10. Based on how many people sign up we will adjust the size of the league moving forward. If you have never signed up before with FanDuel you will receive a deposit bonus of up to $200 if you sign up using the links to the league or the promo code OTC100. The bonus will be matched in increments depending on how much you play. I’ll explain more about the league after the jump.
FanDuel is a salary cap based format league in which prices are set each week for every player in the NFL and you have to fill your roster within the salary cap limits. So for example this week if you want Aaron Rodgers on your team you will use $9,700 of your cap limit and if you decide to pair him up with Eddie Lacy there goes another $8.500. Keep going until you fill out your roster which will consist of 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 Def. The teams that score the most fantasy points that week will win money, with the first place team winning the most. Our league will allow you to select anyone who plays in the weekend or Monday night games. There are a number of other options outside of the OTC league on Fanduel including 50/50 leagues (finish in the top half and win), big multiplayers leagues (thousands of entries with huge prizes), 4PM only leagues (games with just afternoon games), late games, and wraparound weeks. If you have never played before I must warn you it is a great deal of fun and highly addictive.
I will try to post about the new game each Tuesday with a recap of how things went the week before and a link to the new game. I believe the same link should work each week if you want to join up before I post, but Im not 100% sure on that. I’ll try to pin the post to the sidebar and occasionally sticky it when no new posts are going up on cap or other NFL related matters. Like I mentioned above we’ll adjust the league size based on participation. If we can get 20 players that would be great. Last year we have between 10 and 15 most weeks and I think everyone enjoyed it. Its a friendly league and feel free to jump into the comments about how things went the week before or any general fantasy thoughts.
Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions on the format or how it works.
