Contract Notes
Zack Martin signed a 6 year, $84 million contract extension with the Cowboys on June 14, 2018. The contract has $40 million in guarantees, $32 million of which is guaranteed at signing. The guarantee is made up of a $20 million signing bonus, $2 million 2018 base salary guarantee, and $10 million 2019 base salary guarantee. $8 million of Martin's 2020 salary is guaranteed for injury and will become fully guaranteed on the 5th day of the 2019 league year. If Martin is on the roster on the 5th day of the 2024 league year he will earn a $1 million roster bonus.
The Cowboys converted $9.4 million of Martin's 2021 salary to create $7.05 million in cap space. The move will increase Martin's cap charge by $2.35 million in the remaining years of the contract.
The Cowboys converted $10.2 million of Martin's 2022 salary to a bonus and added to void years to create $8.16 million in cap room. Martin's cap numbers will increase by $2.04 million in each of the remaining years of the contract.
