Contract Notes

Jakeem Grant signed a 4 year extension with the Miami Dolphins on August 21, 2019.  The contract is worth $19.7 million in new money with $3.72 million guaranteed at signing.  Grant has a $3.78 million injury guarantee that will vest into a full guarantee on the fifth day of the 2020 league year, bringing his total guarantee to $7.5 million.  Grant can earn up to $1.075 million in player incentives in 2020-2023 based on receptions, team performance, and pro bowl selections (original ballot).  Grant can earn up to $500,000 ($31,250 per game active) in 2021 -2023.

Grant agreed to a new contract on September 1, 2021. As part of the renegotiated contract Grant dropped his salary from $4.15 million to a fully guaranteed $2.3 million. In addition the Dolphins agreed to void the rest of his contract making him a free agent in 2022 rather than 2024. Grant's salary cap number dropped by $1.95 million.
