Contract Notes

Stephon Tuitt signed a 5 year, $60 million contract extension with the Steelers on September 9, 2017. Details of the contract come from a report by Mike Florio of PFT. Per Florio, Tuitt received an $11 million signing bonus and $2 million roster bonus in 2017 which are the guaranteed portions of the contract. He has a $7.5 and $3 million roster bonus due on the fifth day of the 2018 and 2019 league year respectively.On February 8, 2018, Tuitt converted $10.21 million of his base salary and roster bonus into a signing bonus. The move created $8.168 million in cap space for the Steelers in 2018. His future cap numbers will increase by $2.042 million in each of the remaining four years of his contract.
