Contract Notes
Charles Leno signed a four year, $37 million contract extension with the Bears on August 24, 2017. $13.697 million is fully guaranteed upon signing. The guarantee is made up of a $4.5 million signing bonus, $2.5 million 2017 roster bonus, and his 2017 and 2018 salaries. Another $4.303 million is guaranteed for injury and becomes fully guaranteed on the 3rd day of the 2019 league year. In addition he will earn a full base guarantee in 2019 if on the roster in March. There are annual $250,000 escalators based on honors.Leno converted $7 million of his salary to a bonus on August 21, 2019 and added two voidable years for salary cap purposes.
