NFL Predictions: Colts vs Titans

Last week may have been my worst of the year going 7-7 and 6-8 straight up and against the spread respectively. Most were pretty big misses too .Hopefully this week fares better…

TITANS (+3.5) over Colts– Speaking of big misses I missed big on both of these teams last week, though I did think the Colts could have a hangover game against the Rams which I tend to think is what occurred. The Titans losing to Jacksonville, though, I could not even picture. They played such a terrible game and its a crushing loss for their playoff hopes. Now they pretty much have to upset the Colts to stabilize the ship and help their playoff chances.

The one thing that I do like about the Titans this week is that I think the Colts are a play down team and they will play down to whatever level the Titans decide to play at. The Titans also have good players in the secondary and the Colts have zero ground game with Trent Richardson just being worthless on the field to keep the defense honest. So I think the Titans can make this difficult for Andrew Luck who is certainly capable of late game heroics but isnt there yet for a full 60 minute game.

What I don’t like about Tennessee is Ryan Fitzpatrick. He makes so many mistakes and leaves too many points on the field. Hes a perfect guy to have to play a few series here and there but as a starter I just do not trust him. He is gutsy and will certainly play hard, but that does not make a good QB. The Titans will need to break a few big runs with their feast or famine run game to win tonight.

My hunch is that the Titans will have a chance to win with a defensive stop in the 4th quarter but Luck leads the Colts to the win, just not by enough to cover the line. Colts 23 Titans 21
