Contract Notes

Houston and Shaq Lawson completed a contract restructure on March 31, 2021. $7.01 million of Lawson's 2021 salary (base + workout bonus) to a signing bonus for salary cap purposes, and added two voidable years to the contract. The restructure saves the Texans $5,257,500 in cap space for 2021.

Shaq Lawson signed a three year contract with the Miami Dolphins on March 22, 2020.  Contract is worth base value of $30 million with $21 million virtually guaranteed at signing.  Lawson received a $4 million signing bonus and full guaranteed salaries in 2020 and 2021.  Lawson will also receive a $2.5 million roster bonus on March 26, 2020.  Lawson can earn up to $2 million through incentives (sacks and team achievements) in each year of the contract.
