Marcell Dareus signed a 6 year, $95.1 million contract with the Buffalo Bills on September 10, 2015 that includes $60 million in total guarantees and $42.9 million guaranteed at signing. According to ProFootballTalk, Dareus received a $25 million signing bonus and will receive a $7 million option bonus in 2016. Dareus 2015 and 2016 salary is fully guaranteed. If he is on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2016 league year his entire 2017 salary and $2.35 million of his 2018 salary will become fully guaranteed. If he is on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2017 League year he will earn an additional $5 million in full guarantees on his 2018 salary. Dareus has $2 million roster bonuses paid on the 3rd day of the respective league year in the final three seasons of the contract. For each year that Dareus receives any All NFL honors he will receive a $250,000 escalator on each remaining season of his contract.
Dareus was traded to the Jaguars on October 28, 2017. The Jaguars pick up the balance of the Dareus' 2017 and 2018 guarantees. The Bills gained $5.73 million in 2017 cap space with the trade.
