Justin Fields signed a two year, $40 million contract with the Jets. $30 million is fully guaranteed at signing including a $15 million signing bonus. Fields\' 2025 salary is fully guaranteed and $10 million of his 2026 salary is fully guaranteed. There are four void years for salary cap purposes.

On March 16, 2026 the New York Jets traded Fields to Kansas City. As part of the trade, the Jets paid a $7 million signing bonus to facilitate the trade, leaving Kansas City with $3 million salary for the 2026 season.
