Contract Notes

Jerod Mayo renegotiated the final three years of his contract on April 27, 2015 with the Patriots. Mayo’s new contract is worth $22 million with $4.5 million in guarantees, including a $3 million signing bonus. Mayo took a $2.5 million pay cut in 2015 which resulted in net salary cap savings of $4.1875 million. The total cash compensation in 2016 and 2017 remains the same though the structure is different. Mayo’s new contract contains two seperate option years in 2016 and 2017. If exercised Mayo will earn a $4 million roster bonus in 2016 and a $2 million roster bonus in 2017.  Mayo also has $500,000 in per game roster bonuses in both seasons. He can earn up to $1.5 million in incentives for playing time and in every year can earn $300,000 is selected to the Pro Bowl.
