Contract Notes

Jason Peters signed a 4 year, $38.3 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles on February 26, 2014 containing $19.55 million in guarantees, $15.75 million of which is fully guarantees. Peters received a $5 million signing bonus and $5 million roster bonus in the season of signing. His 2014 base salary and $4 million of his 2015 base salary is s fully guaranteed.  $2.8 million of his 2015 salary is $1 million of his 2016 salary is guaranteed for injury only. If Peters is on the roster on the 5th day of the respective League Year those injury only guarantees will become full guarantees.

Peters can earn up to $500,000 in per game active roster bonuses in 2015 and 2016. His contact also includes $3 million in possible escalators that are earned by being selected to the Pro Bowl and/or the All-Pro team. Base salaries of the contract are $1,750,000(2014), $6,800,000(2015), $7,550,000(2016), $9,950,000(2017), and $10,000,000(2018).

On June 13, 2017 Peters agreed to a 1 year extension on his current contract. Due to the structure of the contract we are valuing the contract as a new three year contract worth $27.25 million. As part of the new contract Peters received $11 million in full guarantees, including an $8 million signing bonus. Another $4.5 million is guaranteed for injury. Peters can earn up to $5.5 million in incentives based on playing time and performance. The 2019 league year is an option year which must be exercised before the start of the 2019 league year.
