Contract Notes
Jalen Ramsey signed a five year, $100 million contract extension with the Rams. Details of the contract are from a report from Mike Garafolo. Per the report, Ramsey received a $25 million signing bonus. Ramsey received $43.7 million guaranteed at signing and $71.2 million guaranteed for injury. The full guarantee consists of Ramsey's 2020 and 2021 base salary and a $25 million signing bonus. If Ramsey is on the Rams roster on the 5th day of the 2021 league year, $7.5 million of his 2022 salary will be guaranteed. If on the roster on the 5th day of the 2022 league year he will earn another $7.5 million guarantee on his 2022 salary and a $5 million guarantee on his 2023 salary. On the 5th day of the league year in 2023 another $7.5 million is guaranteed. Ramsey has roster bonuses due on the 5th day of the 2024 and 2025 league years. Another $5 million in incentives is available.
The Rams converted $16 million of Ramsey's 2021 salary to a bonus for cap purposes. The move saves the team $12.8 million in cap room and Ramsey's salary in subsequent seasons will increase by $3.2 million a year.
