Contract Notes
The Eagles signed Fletcher Cox to a 6 year, $102.6 million extension on June 13, 2016. Per Pro Football Talk, Fletcher will receive a $26 million signing bonus and a $6 million option bonus. Per PFT, $63.299 million is guaranteed for injury and $36.299 million is fully guaranteed. The full guarantee consists of the two bonuses plus Cox' 2016 and 2017 base salaries. If Cox is on the Eagles roster in March of 2017 his 2018 salary will become fully guaranteed and $7.75 million of his 2019 salary will also vest. Another $7.75 million of his 2019 salary will become fully guaranteed in 2018. There is a $1 million roster bonus in each of the final three years of the contract.On October 6, 2018 the Eagles restructured Cox's contract by reducing his base salary in 2018 to the minimum and converting $8.19 million to a signing bonus. In addition the Eagles converted $14.67 million of his 2019 salary to an option bonus. We are estimating that the Eagles also added a voidable year at the end of the contract. The move created $6.552 million in cap space in 2018 and $10.098 million of cap space in 2019. Cox's cap numbers will increase by $4.572 million from 2020 through 2022.Career Earnings: $87,540,198
