Contract Notes
Carson Wentz will be traded to the Colts on the first day of the 2021 league year. We are processing the trade early due to multiple requests, however he will not be a member of the Colts roster nor impact their salary cap until March 18, 2021.
Carson Wentz signed a four year, $128 million extension with the Eagles on June 10, 2019. $107.9 million is guaranteed with $66.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. The base value of the contract is $111 million with numerous, easily achievable escalators increasing the value to $128 million. Wentz received a $16.367 million signing bonus and will earn a guaranteed $30 million option bonus in 2020. If the option is declined Wentz' base salary will escalate by a fully guaranteed $30 million, thus protecting the option salary.
