Contract Notes

Cameron Jordan signed a three year contract extension with the New Orleans Saints on June 12, 2019.  The contract base value is $52.5 million in new money with $27.935 million guaranteed at signing and a total vesting guarantee of $42.735 million.  Jordan received a $15.5 million signing bonus and $500,000 roster bonus 5 days after signing the contract.  Jordan has an injury guarantee of $13.8 million in 2021 consisting of the full salary and $1.9 million roster bonus.  The salary vests on the third day of the 2021 league year, and the roster bonus is due of the fifth day of the 2021 league year.  Jordan can earn a $500,000 roster bonus in 2022 and 2023 on the fifth day of each league year.  Jordan has incentives of $500,000 in 2021 and 2022 for sacks.

Jordan restructured his contract with the Saints on March 6, 2021 for cap purposes. We are estimating that Jordan will receive a $1.1 million salary and a $12.7 million signing bonus. The move will create $9.525 million in cap space for the Saints in 2021 and increase Jordan's salary cap number by $3.175 million in each of the 2022 to 2024 seasons.

Jordan restructured his contract in December 0f 2019, converting $9.5 million of salary into an option bonus and adding a void year to the deal. The contract saves the Saints $7.6 million in cap space in 2020 and increases Jordan's cap charge by $1.9 million in each of the remaining contract years.

Cam Jordan signed a five year, $55 million contract extension with the Saints on June 2, 2015. Jordan received a $16 million signing bonus and his $969,000 2015 base salary is also fully guaranteed. According to Nick Underhill of the Advocate, Jordan will receive a $6,000,000 roster bonus in 2016 and yearly roster bonuses of $500,000 in the final three years of the contract. Jordan is also eligible for $300,000 in per game roster bonuses in 2018 and $500,000 in per game bonuses from 2018 through 2020. His salaries in 2015 and 2016 are guaranteed for injury only and will become fully guaranteed if on the roster the 3rd day of that respective League Year. Another $1.25 million in sack incentives per year is available from 2017 to 2020. The Saints created $2.8 million in 2015 cap space with the extension.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Saints converted Jordan's $6 million roster bonus into a signing bonus. The move saves $4.8 million in 2016 cap space and will add $1.2 million per year to his future cap charges. According to Evan Woodbury the Saints later converted $2.73 million of base salary to a signing bonus for cap relief. The move saved just under $2.2 million on the 2016 cap and increased future charges by $547,000.

On August 4, 2023 the Saints and Jordan agreed on a two year contract extension worth $26.5 million. The entire contract is guaranteed for injury and $14 million of the new money is fully guaranteed at signing. Jordan received a $1 million raise for 2023 and his 2024 salary and roster bonus are guaranteed at signing. If on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2024 league year, $1.5 million of his 2025 salary is guaranteed. If on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2025 league year the remainder of his salary is guaranteed. Jordan's contract contains four void years for salary cap purposes.

On February 29, 2024 the Saints converted salary and roster bonus to a signing bonus to generate $9.4 million in cap savings for 2024 per initial report from Adam Schefter.
