Contract Notes

Cameron Heyward signed a five year contract extension with the Pittsburgh Steelers on July 21, 2015. The extension has a new money value of $52.281 million and total value of $59.25 million. Heyward received $15 million in full guarantees which includes a $12 million signing bonus and $3 million roster bonus paid in 2015. In 2016, Heyward will receive a $5 million roster bonus if on the roster on the 3rd day of the League Year. In 2017, Heyward will earn a $3 million roster bonus on the 3rd day of the League Year.On September 4, 2017 Heyward converted $4.225 million of his base salary  to a signing bonus. The move freed up $3,168,750 in salary cap space for the Steelers in 2017. His salary cap charge will increase by $1,056,250 in each of the final three years of his contract.Heyward, according to ESPN's Field Yates, converted $8.085 million of his 2018 salary to a signing bonus. The move frees up $5.39 million in cap space for the Steelers and increases his 2019 and 2020 cap numbers by $2.695 million.
