Contract Notes

Brandin Cooks signed a five year, $81 million contract extension with the Rams on July 18, 2018. Cooks contract contains $50.459 million in guarantees. Per Ben Volin of the Boston Herald Cooks will receive a $7 million signing bonus and $17 million option bonus as part of the contract. He will receive $9.459 million as a roster bonus on the 3rd day of the league year in 2019 and $4 million in 2020. Cooks also has offseason roster bonuses in 2022 and 2023. Contract escalators for performance can be earned in the final two years to boost the value to a reported $88 million.  At this time our cap calculations do not match Volin's report for 2019 and 2020 so we are trying to determine the source of confusion. We will update accordingly when we find the answer.
