Contract Notes
Amari Cooper signed a 5 year contract with the Dallas Cowboys on March 17, 2020. The contract is worth $100 million with $40 million fully guaranteed with a total injury guarantee of $60 million based on initial report by Tom Pelissero. $40 million is fully guaranteed at signing including a $10 million signing bonus and the first two years of Cooper\'s salary. If on the roster on the 5th day of the 2022 league year another $20 million becomes fully guaranteed. Cooper was traded to the Browns on March 16, 2022. The Browns converted $18.88 million in Cooper's 2022 salary into a bonus and added two void years to the contract. The move created $15.1 million in cap space. His cap number will increase by $3.776 million in each remaining contract year.
The Browns converted $18.79 million of Cooper's 2024 salary into a bonus, creating $15.032 million in cap room. The team also guaranteed the remaining salary for the season and added $5 million in incentives. Two more void years were added to the contract for cap purposes.
