Adrian Peterson restructured his contract with the Vikings on July 21, 2015 that has a base value of $32 million. According to PFT, Peterson’s $13 million salary in 2015 is now fully guaranteed. He has roster bonuses of $5 million and $6 million in 2016 and 2017 due on the 3rd day of the League Year. His 2016 salary is guaranteed for injury and will also become fully guaranteed on that date. The remaining three contract years are worth $44 million.

Also according to PFT, Peterson can earn up to $4 million in escalators or lose up to $4 million based on de-escaltors in the contract. The escalators are high end escalators tied to 1,750 and 1,900 rushing yards and the Vikings winning the Super Bowl. If Peterson fails to hit 1,350 yards his salary will de-escalate by $2 million and if he fails to reach 1,550 yards it will de-escalate by $1 million.
