The 49ers go into the league year with the biggest carryover number, biggest adjustment and highest adjusted salary cap. Most of this was all by design knowing that this would be a difficult year for them with the salary cap and expected roster changes.
The Browns took a similar approach as the 49ers and rank 2nd in the NFL. They had the 2nd most carryover and were 8th in adjustments, so no big money from Watson insurance policies yet.
Rounding out the top 5 in adjusted cap are the Patriots, Raiders, and Cowboys. The Patriots and Cowboys both ranked top 5 in adjustments while the Patriots and Raiders were top five in carryover as well. The Giants had the 2nd largest adjustment in the NFL but had basically no carryover money last season so their adjusted cap does not even crack the top 10.
The Bills have the least to work with due to so many incentives hitting the books. They lost $7.37 million due to adjustments and also were low on carryover. They are operating at well under the $279.2 million leaguewide unadjusted cap at $272.262 million.
Also losing cap room were the Ravens at $2.98 million in lost room. They will be under the $279.2 million as well at $277.531 million. Other teams with a negative adjustment were the Bucs, Seahawks, Broncos, Rams, Vikings, Commanders, and Chargers. These teams however did carry over enough cap room to be over the $279.2 million unadjusted salary cap.
All of the numbers on OTC should now be updated to account for any changes due to the adjustments.
