These tables track the number of regular compensatory picks that teams have been eligible for through the duration of their addition to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The numbers seen here are slightly different than the NFL's official numbers, as follows:

• Supplemental compensatory picks are not counted, as they were awarded beyond the scope of the compensatory formula.
• Regular compensatory picks that failed to make the 32 pick limit (marked in red) are counted, as they were awarded within the scope of the compensatory formula.
• All compensatory picks in 1994, and 2nd round compensatory picks in 1995, are ignored, as they did not appear to be awarded by the regular rules of the compensatory formula.
• Numbers highlighted in yellow indicate seasons where a team was eligible for more than four compensatory picks. Four is the maximum number of compensatory picks a team may be awarded per draft.
