The Cowboys signed Jason Witten to a five year, $37 million contract extension on September 11, 2011. Witten received a $12.5 million signing bonus and had his 2011 base salary fully guaranteed. If Witten fails to complete his offseason workout program in any season his salary will de-escalate by $500,000.

In 2013 Witten converted $4,560,000 of salary into a signing bonus.
