OTC 2015 FanDuel League: Week 2

Week 1 in now in the books and because we did so well filling the league last week FanDuel is expanding the size of the OTC league from 20 to 30 players for week 2. That means better prizes with the winner taking home $65 and the top 6 being in the money. The entry fee is the same as last week at $5.  The more people we can get in the future the better the prize packages so feel free to invite any friends you may have, especially if they use OTC from time to time so we can maintain the league each week. If you have never signed up before with FanDuel you will receive a deposit bonus of up to $200 if you sign up using the links to the league or the promo code OTC100. The bonus will be matched in increments depending on how much you play. There is no year long commitment so if you want to just try it out all you need to do is sign up for one week and that’s that. After the jump Ill recap last week’s game and just do a primer on FanDuel for any new users.

Congratulations goes to robblerobble who eeked out a week 1 victory over johnholmes by a score of 144.86 to 143.26. It was impressive win that was fueled by the bottom three position with robblerobble getting great performances out of a low cost tight end kicker, and defense. Johnholmes had similar wins at the bottom end and was really urt when Adrian Peterson threw up a clunker in his return. Rounding out the top 5 were myself(134.78), doctorphelps(134.18), and steveo(130.04).  Danfrommadison just missed the top 5 and there was a bigger drop from there.

Lukily for everyone you get a new lineup this week and a new group of players, so everyone has a chance. Lineups lock Sunday at 1PM so you have plenty of time to get your team signed up and make changes if you sign up early in the week. Just click on the link below to sign up.

For the new players who have not used FanDuel before, FanDuel is a salary cap based format league in which prices are set each week for every player in the NFL and you have to fill your roster within the salary cap limits. So for example this week if you want Aaron Rodgers on your team you will use $9,300 of your cap limit and if you decide to pair him up with Matt Forte there goes another $8.900.  Keep going until you fill out your roster which will consist of 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 Def. The teams that score the most fantasy points that week will win money, with the first place team winning the most. Our league will allow you to select anyone who plays in the weekend or Monday night games. There are a number of other options outside of the OTC league on Fanduel including 50/50 leagues (finish in the top half and win), big multiplayers leagues (thousands of entries with huge prizes), 4PM only leagues (games with just afternoon games), late games, and wraparound weeks.  If you have never played before I must warn you it is a great deal of fun and highly addictive.

I will try to post about the new game each Wednesday with a recap of how things went the week before and a link to the new game.  I’ll try to pin the post to the sidebar and occasionally sticky it when no new posts are going up on cap or other NFL related matters. Like I mentioned above we’ll adjust the league size based on participation. Its a friendly league and feel free to jump into the comments about how things went the week before or any general fantasy thoughts.

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions on the format or how it works.
