NFL Predictions 2014: Week 13

[adsenseyu1]

Last week I did well picking straight up with a 12-3 record, but struggled against the spread going 8-7. My yearly record is now 116-59-1 SU and 101-71-4 ATS. Thanksgiving day was ok with a 2-1 record both SU And ATS. Lets see how I do in week 13…

COLTS (-10) over Redskins– As I have said before, the Colts beat up on bad teams and Washington is one of the worst in the NFL. The Colts offense is too potent for Washington to stay close. Colts 35 Redskins 20

TEXANS (-7.5) over Titans– It is difficult to take a Ryan Fitzpatrick led team and lay this many points, but the Titans are just dreadful. As long as Fitzpatrick minimizes the turnovers this should be a nice win. Texans 24 Titans 16

Browns (+3.5) over BILLS– For whatever reason the Bills put up loads of points against the Jets, but this isn’t the Jets and against everyone else they struggle. I can’t see the Browns getting much going offensively but they should be right in it until the end. Bills 19 Browns 16

RAVENS (-6.5) over Chargers– Each week I feel the Chargers are getting worse even as they sit at 7-4. The Ravens have the short week and their home field is not what it used to be, but San Diego can’t generate enough consistent play to win this one. Ravens 24 Chargers 17

Giants (-2.5) over JAGUARS– You know you are a bad football team when the Giants are favored against you on the road. Giants did have a difficult loss last week and the Jaguars will get a ton of pressure on Eli Manning but the Jaguars offense wont take advantage of it. Giants 27 Jaguars 16

Bengals (-3.5) over BUCCANEERS– On paper I think this is a big mismatch. It should be one on the field too unless Andy Dalton falls apart. Bengals 24 Buccaneers 16

Raiders (+7) over RAMS– The Raiders do enough defensively to keep this a game. I cant take the Rams with a 7 point margin. Whether it’s a late TD pass allowed, a bad turnover, or just some mistakes by the Rams I have to think Oakland is within a TD at the end. Rams 20 Raiders 16

Saints (+4) over STEELERS– We’ve seen the Steelers in these spots before and they come out flat. Saints have to have a good game in them and while they aren’t in must win territory they are getting close. Saints 30 Steelers 27

Panthers (+2.5) over VIKINGS– This is a pretty unappealing game. Neither team is going anywhere this season though the Panthers have a chance still at the playoffs. Expect Newton to get hit quite a bit on Sunday. Vikings 20 Panther 19

Cardinals (-1.5) over FALCONS– Arizona looked bad against the Seahawks last weekend but this should be a far easier opponent. Matt Ryan will make one or two mistakes that turns the game for Arizona. Cardinals 24 Falcons 20

Patriots (+3) over PACKERS– Right now these are the two best teams in the NFL and this should be an entertaining game. Can New England take away the Packers passing attack?  Can the Packers contain the balanced Patriots attack?  I think New England matches up better.  Patriots 33 Packers 28

CHIEFS (+1) over Broncos– Kansas City had a bad one last Thursday and they should be the more desperate team because of it. Key for the Chiefs is getting to Manning early and making him dive. Chiefs offense should prove more consistent than the Dolphins last week to protect a lead if they get it. Chiefs 26 Broncos 24

Dolphins (-7) over JETS– Why must the NFL torture me and put this on Monday night?  I wont even have another game to turn to when Geno Smith hands the Dolphins 14 points in the first half. My Jets can’t do anything right and the sooner this seasons ends the better. Dolphins 33 Jets 14
